Satisfied with that answer Liz picked up a saber. Going up to a dummy she silicide downward on each of its shoulders. The cuts were clean but she followed up with a rather sloppy stab with the blade, again not looking like she knew how to handle the weapon. “Good choice, that was made from the horns of an orc.” Thadious said happily, his suspicions decreased for now and I hoped Ace and I would keep it that way. Ace was quick to choose his weapon and something about it bothered me right away.
It was a long bone white two handed sword with a fiery red handle. He looked at it with wide eyes and swung it once before moving to the dummies stabbing it into his target with ease letting the blade do all the work. “Ah very good eye young one. That is one of the best weapons we have and one of the rarest. This blade was made from the bones of a dragon.” My heart leapt as my eyes turned to him, something felt wrong about this, Ace was my friend but the fact a tiger was using the bones of a dragon as a weapon felt wrong.
A part of my mind cried out to me to demand to have him put it back but I controlled myself. I felt eyes on me and looked up to see Thadious smiling at me snobby. “Well Sam, you the last one but there are plenty to choose from.” I sighed. “I don’t know, I’ve never really thought of using a weapon, it kinda feels more normal to use hand to hand.” “Ah so you want some sort of glove then.” Thadious said going over to the end of the table and picking up a few gloves and handing them back to me. “Here try them on.”
I took the gloves and observed them a moment before putting them on. They were gauntlets that went half way to my wrists and though they looked like they should have been made from mettle they were made from a soft leather that reminded me of buckskin but was thicker and stronger. On the hand were two layers of spikes, the first half way up the fingers and the second on the knuckles. The ones on the knees were curved like a claw and the ones on the fingers were spikes like a fang. In fact all the spikes looked somewhat like fangs. I put the gloves on and made a fist, the curved spikes on my knuckles and the pointed on the flat of my first.
With a smirk I went over to a dummy and punched digging in with the rounded spikes. Next I moved back and swung with my fist parallel to the dummy and down its body digging in with the curved spines and dragging them down the dummy. I smiled, it felt just like using my claws in dragon form with a nice twist. “Looks like I found my weapon.” I said looking back to the others. “Yes, the Tiger Fang Gauntlet, perhaps as rare as the dragon blade.” It really was my weapon, if Ace was going to have a weapon from a dragon I was going to use a weapon made from a tiger as my own claws.
“I’m doing this because I want the dragon to have died for a good cause, maybe you should do the same.” Ace thought to me angrily as I walked over to the group. I could tell, he wanted that to be his motive but there was much more behind it, he felt the same way but wouldn’t admit it. “At least I don’t hide my motives. Yeah it’s a good reason to use it, but why not use your born rival as your weapon? And if we both have each other’s, then were on even ground.” Both Ace and I tried to keep our faces cool and the conversation just between us but I felt first Jet then the others on the fringes of my mind. Closing my mind I pushed them all away as Thadious, Dominic and Nara waved us all together.
Enjoy, I hope all of you are doing well, have a Happy Thanksgiving guys! Hope you are all doing well if not may things get better for you soon!
