Kit moved along and came to the end of the grass and the base of the mountain. "Sister, do I climb or fly." Said
Kit "We are in Earth's domain, so you climb." Replied Sister Wind. Kit gave a nod and shifted to anthro form
looking at the mountain above. It was pure and untouched by man, no climbing tools were in it, no human had
ever seen this mountain. Kit lifted her right arm to a small hold then pulled up swiftly as she jumped finding a hold
for her left hand. Though there was nothing for her feet so they dangled her nails dug into the soft stone, though
very lightly, too much and it would crumble.
She looked up and put most of her weight into her left arm, moving her body back and lessening her right arm she
launched herself up finding a new hold, placing her right foot in the now empty hold. Her body now at a slight
angle, she looked up to a small ledge. Without hesitation she leapt up to it, but her front paws were all that held
up, her head resting on the stone. "Great, pull ups." She though as her feet once more hung in the air. She let her
body hang then pulled with all she had, going up to waist placing her knees under her, legs folded. She then swung
her body forward sitting in this position.
"Sister, do you think this is a good idea?" she asked. "No, but then it is not an idea, it is a test and is any test
easy?" "Well…" she was cut off. "A test I give you." "Oh in that case no." She looked back to the mountain once
more and saw a very narrow ledge. "Well looks like that goes up the mountain. Good thing I'm graceful." She rose
and took a step but tripped. "Yes, very." Kit huffed and got up looking to the ledge. There were foot holds that lead
up to it, and went past it. "A cross roads. Well I was never one for the easy way." She placed her back flat against
the wall and moved on, slowly trying to pick up any movement.
Ten minutes into her trek it came, the rock under her hind paw giving way. Though she moved fast enough to
move past it. Hearing more rock she looked to see all the path behind her was falling. "Great test but as a wolf of
the wind no earth binds me, nor will it end me." She shifted to wolf form and ran, one paw in front of the other,
until she made it to the tip of the mountain. It was jagged and unstable though a large bolder sat. She leapt on top
of it and sad with a smile. "Made it." She gave a huff.
"Welcome to the domain of the Earth." Said Sister Wind. "Yes, I passed the test." She smiled. "That you did Kit and
welcome," came a new voice "but the test was just the beginning to a longer mission." A man emerged from the
peak of the mountain. He wore a brown muscle shirt and khaki shorts with bolder brown hair and eyes the color of
wet sand. "Now, let me tell you a very important story…"
Part two of my story.
