Seeking Balance Pt20Light made her way to the edge of her land. There was a gap between her
land and the Domain of Darkness, it was a sort of gray land filled with a
calm energy. Light crossed though the barrier on the edge of her land and
entered the gray land. "What kind of place is this?" asked Kit in the back of
her soul. "The neutral ground. A place where Dark and I can meet without
our lands trying to push each other out. Something we must be prepared for
on entering Dark's land." "No wonder it feels so calm. You..eh we
..whatever...have lots of good memories here right?" "Indeed we do."
Kit noticed Light's demeanor was rather calm and knowledgeable. "I may
need to call on you when I can't handle a situation." "That would be wise. I
have seen much in my life. And there is a way for me to take your soul and
just my personality to come to the surface with your mind still dominant.
Just call upon me and I will handle it from there." Light approached the
barrier. "If you have any more questions ask them
Seeking Balance Pt19Kit shuttered as she entered the land. It was meant to be the Domain of
Light but she sensed darkness all around. It was not right and it hurt her
somehow. She felt the land try and push her out but she trudged on, she
had to find Light and right this horrible wrong. She stood and took in the
land. Indeed black inky darkness was all around her and it tired to control
her but the blessing of the other elements kept it at bay. "Light where are
you?" she thought. A faint whisper came to her. "Even in the darkness a
small light can exist, if the right steps are taken, it can grow." "Light?" asked
Kit. She had no reply. "She must be very weak with all of this. I must find
Kit used every scene she had, the strength of the earth at her paws to
move, the fire in her heat to keep hope, the calm mind of the water, the
common sense of her roots from the plant, the poison in her blood to keep
the darkness from poisoning her, the sight of the lightning, the hearing of
thunder, and the w
Seeking Balance Pt18A vortex append in front of Kit and when it faded a woman stood with white eyes
that seemed to be alive with wind and long white green hair that looked like faded
mist. She was dressed in light green and a smile was on her face. Kit tilted her
head. "What no wind taking your shape?" she laughed. Sister Wind smiled. "No, I
prefer to stick out among my siblings. I'm not one for repetition." Kit wagged her
tail and ran to Sister Wind jumping and placing her paws on her shoulders, gently
pushing her to the ground. She rubbed her own furry cheek against her sister's and
licked her face a few times.
"Same old you." Kit said tail constantly wagging. Sister Wind wiped her cheek. "And
same old you. I can't tell you how great it is to meet you in the flesh." she smiled
and scratched Kit behind the ears. "But maybe there will be other times for this.
How about now you let me up?" Kit laughed. "Oh yeah that stuff." She backed up
and Sister Wind stood and dusted herself off. "Shall we?" "Wait, I ha
Seeking Balance Pt17Kit moved on, the thunder was now calm around her. Soon she felt the
change in lands but she didn't have to feel it to know she was in Sister
Wind's land. There was a strong updraft that would move anything and
everything into the sky. In she sky there were tornadoes everywhere
twisting about moving all around. "And of course you can use your wings
here. They may even be stronger."Sister Wind told Kit. Kit gave a nod and
called forth her wings. She was about to take flight but something came to
"Sister, why are your and Brother Earth's lands so far apart, you are each
others opposite, not only that you frame the entire scope of your nature
born siblings." "Good question Kit. It is simple really and it is the same
reason we are called 'Father Earth' and 'Mother Wind'. For the Earth is on all
the planet, even under the water and the Wind is above all Earth. So we
watch the others after all they are above and below us. And other than that,
the two of us are always together so we

booming laugh."Would you think it was that easy?" Kit gave a sigh. "No." "Sister
Wind laughed. "How I love my family." Kit shook her head. "So what's the
challenge?" "Easy, use my sister to fight me." "There are a lot of us sisters." Said
Sister Wind Kit laughed. "I think he means Sister Lightning. Alright then, come, let
me beat your challenge."
"Eager, aren't you?" responded Brother Thunder Kit smiled. "Just a little." She
crouched in a fighting stance. "Let's see what you can do about this." A distorted air
append in front of Kit and launched to her. "Sister Lightning if your still in reach
lend me your skills!" thought Kit. Lighting flashed within her eyes. She smiled as a
light gathered around her. "Let's see if pure heat can stop this moving air." She was
about to send lightning forth but she stooped. "No, not this way." She stood
normally. "Brother Thunder, I cannot fulfill your challenge, Sister Lightn
Seeking Balance Pt15Kit shifted to wolf form as she entered the land. It was a sort of dust bowl of an area, wide open
spaces with dull gray soil. There were little cliffs here and there. "On the edge...nothing ever
happens on the edges of the lands, why is that?" she spoke standing and watching. "Because with
two opposite lands so close, there is a spot where their powers meet in perfect balance keeping
each other at bay. That and when they meet they sort of calm each other down so there is no need
to show one's powers." Kit smiled. "Ah I see, thank you for tolerating my never ending
questions." "Of course."
Kit moved on with explosive thunder all around. She could feel it push at her. Giving a low
growl she spoke. "The force of sound as well as moving air. Sister can you do anything about the
air, maybe calm it so he can not push?" "Sorry Kit, but it is just more than rushing air, it is
vibrating atoms, I can't do anything about that." Kit nodded. "Alright." said Kit though Sister
Wind would not be able
Seeking Balance Pt14"Now all you need to do is size the lightning." Spoke Sister Lightning. "Why
do they always make you risk your life?" Sighed Sister Wind. "Don't worry,
everything has worked out so far."" Kit smiled. "Always the optimist." Sister

Kit laughed. "Now now you two." she said one arm back poised to launch
outward. The perfect moment came, the bold came down, Kit surged her
arm out and took the lighting in her hand. It stilled and calmed as all the
lightning gathered in front of her.
"Great job, I just needed to make sure you trusted me." came Sister
Lighting's voice as the lighting left Kit's hand and formed the shape of a
woman. She had soft gold hair and electric yellow eyes and sparks danced at
her feet. She wore a black belly shirt with electric yellow bolts decorating it
and electric yellow pants with black lighting. "Always Sister Lighting, I trust
you and all of the family. Even Dark, he just needs L

Thief’s Journal – August 17 20XX
I got caught...I got fricking caught.
Tonight’s lesson? Pick your targets. Pick your targets CAREFULLY: I’ll just say that right now.
If you don’t know what you’re getting into, you’ll end up like I did tonight. (Okay maybe not EXACTLY as I did tonight, but not any less screwed.) I’m sure that seems obvious and that I’ve said it before, but sometimes when you get good, you get cocky…and clumsy…and caught…
I mean, before then it had been a good night. And I mean REALLY good: 15 gallons worth of milkshake from a Pump-Bump-N’Go (5 different kinds!!), 2 shelves of goodies on the snack-food isle at Güdbuy Grocers, and a whole BOATLOAD of leftover chili cheese and beef from Sassy Patties that I didn't even wait to take back home.
This kitty was sitting pretty, lemme tell you.
Then came that damn house. It was supposed simple: Get in, felony, get
The Ogre and the Leprechaun
** audio now available here: https://soundcloud.com/tom-woodliff/the-ogre-and-the-leprechuan
There once lived an ogre who loved to frolick about freely in his forest domain; setting traps for prey, picking fresh daisies, climbing mighty oak trees and the like. The other forest creatures feared him, for after all, he was an ogre, and ogres have certain, shall we say, reputations. But truth be told, he really wasn't interested in playing the role of a monster. No, he was content with making strawberry jams, wonderful porcupine puddings and a number of other fine ogre recipes handed down from his grandmama. His only weakness was that he had a ravenous appetite!
One chilly winter morning, a wee leprechaun happened to stray onto the ogre's land. He was searching for his lost newt, his much beloved pet. Newts can be very difficult to find, as they like to hide under rocks or in tiny crevices. So it had been many days that this pa
A Simple MelodyToo damn cold.
That was the only way to put it.
It was simply too damn cold. The rusty old train car provided protection from the barrage of the snowstorm outside, but the metal confines did little to stop the freezing air from becoming any less freezing. The inside wasn’t exactly comfortable, either. It had been a cargo train, not a luxury transportation system for the rich to sip wine and debate over the economy. At the very least, the temporary shelter’s door could slide shut and eliminate the wind chill.
Travis was already bundled in two t-shirts, a hoodie, and a coat, but he certainly didn’t turn down the opportunity to nestle into the pile of abandoned blankets in the corner of the train car. A guitar was also propped up against the wall. The strings were rusty, and it was horribly out of tune, but he was thrilled by the discovery anyway.
The previous occupant of the train car had likely planned to return at some point, but judging by the untouched
A Borrower's Quest: Salt Acquiry
Smooth, warm light shines in through a small, opened window. Morning fog is outside, in the forest. The room is silent and calm. It’s crowded with furniture, shelves and chests all around the walls. All give home to clothes, glass jars and hundreds of books. In the middle of the room, a big, old wooden dining table stands. A few cups, a little clay jar and a vase are on top of it on a neat white tablecloth. Next to the wall opposite to the window, there’s a bed. A boy in his late teens enjoys a deep sleep in it. His occasional snoring is the only thing that disturbs the calm silence of the cottage.
And then small fidgeting is heard from the direction of the window. The sound of it is insignificant, nobody would give it a second thought. They would think it’s just some ordinary noise any house makes. But it wasn’t. From outside, the wall is overgrown by ivy leaves, the vines reach over the window, and on these, something is climbi
Trust Machines: Morning Coffee at the VennCafe (Food TFs, Coffee TF)
“So,” Rob said, slurping down a coffee before work. “What's up for tonight? It's Friday and I'm feeling the urge to be splurged upon.” He winked at his wife Mona, who was digging into a bowl of Cheerios.
“You know,” Mona replied between bites, “Claire at the Trust Motel keeps telling us to visit the VennCafé. She says she can't believe we haven't yet. You want to meet there for lunch?”
Rob snorted, “I'd rather be the lunch. But my boss kind of needs me this afternoon.”
“Well, we'll check it out, see what we think. Meet you there at twelve, okay?”
Rob nodded, picking up his coffee and swirling it around. “You know, I think I'd like to be this,” he stared into the brown liquid. “You'll drink me?”
Mona placed down her spoon. “Well, I'd like to try that too. See, how cool would it be to be Venned not just into a cup of coffee, but rather a coffee be
An Autumn Adventure"That's just about the last of them here in the front yard," I called out, brushing some of the crumbled pieces of leaves off of the sleeves of my hoodie. Autumn had apparently taken an early start on about half of the trees at my house, spreading a colorful, thin layer of leaves all over the lawn. Since there was still so much life left in the grass below, I decided it was a good idea to rake the stuff up.
Besides, little Cyndaquil could enjoy putting his flames to good use igniting something on purpose, for a change.
Nevertheless, I decided to invite a friend over to help me rake up the auburn mess of leaves. After all, everyone knows it's more fun to play in the leaf piles afterwards when you have someone else to take turns making cannonball jumps into the flaking foliage with you! But Dragonair was away for the afternoon, consoling some of the forest animals who weren't prepared for the half-and-half shift of the seasons. So naturally, I looked to my two-legged companions instead.
Anima the Singing Angel Balloon
Anima Caelestis (pronounced Celestis), Anima for short is a cute and beautiful pink-haired angel hair girl who loves peace around the world and hates wars and mischief.
One day, today is a day where there is no evil can happen on her relaxing day. She lied down in the pastures and often pondered what it's like to fly up into the skies without the assistance of her angel wings.
"Is there another way to get up to the sky without my wings?" She said to herself. "Maybe I can try singing to see if it'll help."
She cleared her throat, opened her mouth slowly and began to vocalize a sweet harmonic voice as if she is in a opera. The wind picked up in response to her voice and guided itself down towards to her mouth.
The air began to fill Anima's body like a balloon and kept vocalizing until more air flowed right into her mouth and inflated a lot bigger four times the size of a planet and felt her feet being lifted up from the ground.
"Looks like my singing can pick up the wind," Anima said as
A Mysterious Fever -End-
“Huh, Dawn? What are you doing here?” Yue questioned as he noticed the fire fox running towards him. Both he and the little Fletchling dropped their twigs as she tripped right into the Sneasel’s arms with a clumsy smile.
“I found it!” She happily exclaimed and repeated before pointing towards the branch that stuck out of her tail with a chuckle. “And it’s a lot lighter than it looks! I was able to hold my own against an Ursaring with it!”
“An Ursaring?! Did it hurt you?! Are you alright!?” The Sneasel pushed her an inch away, still holding on to the vixen as he scanned for any wounds.
“I’m fine ya big dumb butt! I’m a Braixen now, and I bet I could even hold my own against a Hydreigon! With my new staff, I’ll be unstopable!” Dawn shoved the Sneasel playfully, hitting him over his wounds accidentally.
“Hey, be careful…!” He grunted, holding on to his chest.
